Would I just carry it around like a book, throw it in my basket, and check items off my list as I go?

I do almost hate to say it, but I've only answered yes to one device so far: the Apple iPad.

Bill Gates, of course, strongly disagrees:

Gates should probably consult with a few of his iPhone-using employees before shooting his dinosaur mouth off about mobile user interface paradigms. Real life situations where one needs a full hardware keyboard are a lot rarer than he seems to think, and as someone who has actually tried to use a netbook to grocery shop (yes, I am a nerd), I can state confidently that navigating a mouse down to the Start menu to load up Notepad while in the freezer section is precisely as awkward as it sounds.
